Oil-Pipe O-Ring Selection: Match the Groove and Fluid Specification

The O-ring has no independent equipment pressure rating. Sour-gas and rapid-decompression requirements need grade-specific qualification. EPDM must not be assumed suitable for petroleum service. We operate an ISO 9001 quality management system.

SHQN accepts black rubber O-ring enquiries for specified oil-pipe and equipment grooves. Provide the inside diameter, cross-section and tolerance or exact standard size reference. NBR, HNBR, FKM and EPDM require different compound selections; colour does not identify compatibility.

Application of the rubber o ring:

For oil-pipe connections, identify the sealing location and process fluid. Include lubricants, cleaning agents, continuous and intermittent temperatures and static or dynamic duty. Do not use the same compound assumption for petroleum, coolant, water or gas applications.
